Simon Metals has been in operation in the Puget Sound region since the 1930’s and specializes in the processing of ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, electronics waste, and precious metals transporting both domestically and abroad. We consistently provide responsive customer service via highly trained logistics and technical staff. Setting Simon Metals apart from others is our ability to successfully manage and execute technical projects “beyond the yard”.

Who is Simon Metals, LLC. – Vancouver

Paul Olsen, President of Simon Metals, LLC., had a vision to expand their e-cycle operation and broaden the positive impact Simon Metals brings to the e-scrap recycling needs of our communities.  With that vision in mind, Mr. Olsen, expanded his operation on December 1, 2016, to our current site at the Port of Vancouver.  Our Vancouver, Washington facility increased operations with a 55,000 square foot e-scrap recycling facility which is dedicated to meeting our customer requirements, insuring worker safety, reducing impacts on the environment and creating a quality product.

How do we accomplish all this?

  • For our clients we ensure them that we not only follow all City, County, State and Federal requirements, but also voluntarily conform to the international standards of ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, and R2 Responsible Recycling.  Additionally, we are a Preferred Processor and Transporter for Washington Materials Management & Financing Authority (WMMFA).
  • For our workers we ensure safety through detailed trainings, open communication between our employees and managers, and are always looking for ways to improve our work environment.
  • For our environmental impacts, we hand dismantle the electronics to a base commodity, and mechanically process the material through a Shredder & E-Sort system, producing a product that contains little waste and a higher grade of material.  This eliminates waste further down the process and creates a quality product for our vendors.

We Plan, Do, Check, Act and continuously improve.

Where is the company headed?

It is our goal to continue to find the most effective ways to reduce our impact on the environment, and to ensure our customers that when their e-scrap is sent to Simon Metals, LLC. they have assurance that their material is not being illegally exported or sent to landfill.

We are currently on track to start a second shift.

We have made a commitment to ourselves, our customers, and our employees to be leaders in the changing world of e-scrap recycling.
